A cold front has officially entered (where the hell is this mild Fall I kept hearing we would have?) and the weather change has literally wreaked havoc on my skin. To help ease my skin’s anxiety, I have found the beauty equivalent to Valium. The best part is…this DIY face mask contains only three ingredients and all can be found right in your kitchen. Not only will it calm and smooth your skin, but it honestly smells ridiculously amazing too!
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of honey
1 Teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Honey and nutmeg are nature’s anti-inflammatory’s that can significantly reduce redness and swelling, prevent infection in the skin and calm acne scarring. Moreover, the ground nutmeg and cinnamon exfoliates your skin leaving it ultra smooth and baby bottom soft. Once you have mixed the ingredients together, it will become a thick, gooey consistency. Believe me, it doesn’t look pretty and closely resembles what you would find in a baby’s soiled diaper, but this mask is beyond genius!
First, I recommend to do a test on a small patch of skin before applying all over your face, especially if you have sensitive skin – just in case you have a bad reaction to any of the ingredients. Second, this mask could be a tad bit messy, so make sure to have on clothes you don’t mind getting a some of the mixture on. Third, apply the mask to your face and neck and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Wash it off moving your hands softly in a circular motion with warm water.
As Drake would say… you can “Thank Me Later”!!! 😉
XO,
S
