I stumbled across the GSUS Sindustries brand about 7 years ago while living in Vancouver, BC. Moving to a new city and not knowing a single person, I spent many rainy weekends walking the streets of Yaletown (where I lived), Robson St., and Gastown. It was in the latter where I found the GSUS store and I’ve been copping pieces from each season’s collection ever since. The Euro label was founded back in ’93, in Amsterdam by Jan Schrijver and Angelique Berkhout and from it’s inception has been known to be quite the risk taker. Starting with it’s name, pronounced Jesus and its logo, which has an uncanny resemblance to a crown made of thorns – similar to what Jesus Christ wore. I’ve heard that the company’s logo had incited some controversy in the past as some felt it’s a disgrace to Christians.

Keeping with the brand’s intuition and free spirited roots, GSUS’ product lines combine; precision & free association, dream & logic, and craftsmanship, resulting in twisted classics. I recently wore the Downstream Cupro jumpsuit in black to an event and received tons if inquiries about it…which isn’t too surprising seeing as though I almost passed out when I laid eyes on it in the GSUS showroom.
