Not like anyone needs more proof that France is the chicest country in the world but over the last decade, La Poste (France’s national postal service) has collaborated with luxury designers for it’s annual Valentine’s Day “Heart” collection. With past collabo partnerships with Lanvin, Chanel, YSL, Givenchy and Christian Lacroix, the 2013 edition will be with French brand, Hermes.
Hermes will be turning some of their iconic scarfs, like the “De Tout Coeur” designed by Zoe Pauwels, into five different stamp designs. The stamp illustrations will incorporate images of shooting stars, hearts, swans and a lyre (an instrument of the messenger god Hermes).
If you live in Paris or are lucky enough to be there early in the new year (if so…please take me with you), the stamps will be available exclusively on Jan. 25 and 26 at “Le Carre”, the post office’s store in the “City of Lights” and then will be in all post office locations as of Jan. 28.
XO,
S
