After parting ways with his band Let’s Go To War, who has toured with M.I.A, Santo Gold, Down With Webster, MSTRKRFT, K-OS and written music for Britney Spears, Peter-John has decided to go solo after a long hiatus from the industry with music that more accurately depicts his evolution from an electro hipster to a more acoustic, live music based artist. His journey back into the music scene began over a year and a half ago while he resided in London, England for a few months to work with the up-and-coming English producer Smasher and to play the U.K. festival circuit. It was over these months that Peter-John came to the realization that he no longer wanted to make electro music, although he still loved the genre, with it’s base heavy production and party life lyrics. However, this type of music is just no longer organically who he is as a person or artist. I’ve been lucky enough to hear some of the other new tracks which have yet to be released and believe me, this change of musical direction is definitely a good look. But before leaving the electro/hip-hop scene altogether, the former band frontman has decided to satisfy us all with one last club banger…and I am totally glad he did!
The first single, “Addicted” which was released two weeks ago, is part of a forthcoming EP expected to drop early 2013 and will be Peter-John’s official departure from the type of music he became known for during his time with LGTW. Needless to say…the track is effing BA-NA-NAS and has quickly become my go-to track to listen to as I get ready for a night out because…”Tonight is the night I feel like I’m gonna go all out…”
Written by Peter-John and co-produced by Smasher (London, UK) and AL-P, one half of the acclaimed electro DJ duo MSTERKRFT, I have no doubt that both old fans and new fans alike will be quick to download this underground gem. Download the track Here on iTunes.
