Samira Nasr may be far from a household name, but this chick sure does work for a household name publication…InStyle Magazine. Formerly a freelance stylist with previous stints at Harpers Bazaar, Vogue China, Vogue Spain, Elle and even worked under the iconic Grace Coddington for three years at American Vogue, was granted the coveted role of Style Director at InStyle last fall reporting to the publication’s handsome Editor-In-Chief – Ariel Foxman. Her first issue as the mag’s Style Director hit stores this past March.
This stylish beauty excudes Brooklyn chic with a classic twist with her go-to designers being Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, Alaia, Celine and YSL and I adore the way her ensembles always look so laid back and relaxed, without trying to hard, which I guess is part of being an amazing stylist.
Born in Montreal, Canada, Ms. Nasr headed to the big city of NYC to obtain a Masters in Journalism and then began working in fashion publishing. In addition to working with some of fashion’s top glossy mags, Samira has also styled major campaigns for some MAJOR brands; Banana Republic, Laura Mercier, Tory Burch, Express, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Tiffany & Co and L’Oreal.
And clearly I’m not the only Samira fan out there. Stylecore recently posted a cool vid of the stylist extraordinaire in her trendy Williamsburg (Brooklyn) apartment, sharing the fashion essentials in her closet. After watching, I cannot help but want to befriend this adorable style queen and borrow her legions of Celine shoes, natch! (if she happens to be a size 9).
XO,
S
