Ok fellow fitness fanatics, the time has come…Equinox has finally opened its doors in Toronto and will definitely change the way Canadians view “gym life”. Voted the “Top American Club” by Conde Nast Traveller and the NY Times, Equinox is my go-to to get my workout on (and some shameless celebrity gazing) when I am Stateside and I am stoked to indulge in the club’s phenomenal offerings right here at home now. The 35,000 sqft facility opened for a few hours yesterday for special guests to attend some of their group fit classes and to check out the space, which is located in the heart of the Financial District, “By opening in Toronto, our aim is to meet the needs of a highly discerning consumer who demands the best and currently doesn’t have the opportunity to get it. The Bay St location will boast the cutting edge equipment and programs, exceptional design, inspirational workout environment and unparalleled focus on the members’ experience which has always made Equinox such a success” says CEO Harvey Spevak.
Equinox’s signature Stacked Class at the new Canadian flagship location
The club is situated inside Commerce Court, overlooking Toronto’s Stock Exchange, city skyscrapers and features a multistory display of abstract art. All the detailing, materials and layout create a fitness and wellness experience in a class of it’s own. What to expect as a member of this chic fitness club…five fitness studios, the industry’s top instructors who lead a range of cycling, yoga, boxing, Pilates and innovative group fitness classes including exclusive classes like their famous Barre Burn, METCON3, Shockwave, ViPR and Tabata. And obviously superior strength and cardio training areas that will be sure to inspire you to perfect your summer body!

Equinox did not cut any corners in the design and products found around the venue. The spacious and lavish change rooms are stocked with complimentary Kiehl’s products, personalized grooming stations and custom coded lockers – because there is nothing worse than your personal items being stolen from a locker room. And last but definitely not least, my fave part of this fab fitness chain – The Spa @ Equinox provides a selection of necessary pampering and rejuvenating body treatments, a full range of facials, including the famous 24 – carat gold facial, yes you just read that right…a gold facial, a cafe and a juice bar which is equipped with AV for your laptops.
