Rudsak’s A/W’13 collection was shown this past March during World Mastercard Fashion week in Toronto and it was one of my fave collections to come down the runway. Last week I got a chance to get up-close and personal with each of the pieces during the brand’s press/media presentation at the Templar Hotel and let me just say…cannot wait for these items to hit store floors this August!
The Canadian brand, which was founded in Montreal back in 1994, is gearing up to celebrate their 20th anniversary next year and definitely bringing their “A Game” with their upcoming line. Known for it’s superior quality, craftmanship and international instinct, they have done a phenomenal job merging a timeless and contemporary look. I was blown away by everything I saw and was pleased that the brand stayed true to it’s rugged roots but managed a way to interject the glamour of the disco era with metallics, bold contrasts and shimmer. True fans of Rudsak will be happy to still see the company’s heritage snaps, crests, exposed hardware, raw edges and signature leather appliques with the usual exceptional attention to detail throughout the line.
My absolute MUST-HAVES from the collection have to be the leather skull ankle boots with quilted flap adorned with miniature skulls and the leather and metallic moto jacket!

When asked about his inspiration, Evik Asatoonian – Rudsaks’s Creative Director states, “I used subtle inspiration from my past while at the same time staying true to our rebel without a cause DNA. I think of the 70s as my favourite era and wanted to bring that groovy time to life through our designs.” Other key staples from the women’s collection include asymmetrical parkas that are so chic and stylish, it actually has me a bit excited for Winter, waist-cinched short leather perfectos; with rabbit and pony hair, sexy leather dresses, skirts and of course a MAJ pair of moto style leather pants.
Sorry ladies, don’t expect to see these pieces in store and online until early Fall but you can shop Rudsak’s Spring/Summer’13 collection now here.
