There is nothing I detest more than stupid fashion rules, i.e. “No white after Labour Day!” or “Bright colours are only for spring and summer”. Its complete bollocks and I refuse to abide by such ridiculousness. I also don’t believe that all great clothing and accessories have to come from high-end designers and luxury retailers and personally, I think real style is being able to mix both high and low effortlessly without anyone knowing which is which.
Today I’m breaking both aforementioned fashion rules by wearing this bright red dress I found last week. It’s an ideal shade of red that works on so many different skin tones…believe it or not, this is my first time to the “red dress rodeo” – I’ve never owned anything in this colour before. This great transitional piece is great to wear during this time of the year. The cotton blend has 2% spandex making this shift somewhat body hugging without being overtly sexy. The colour blocked clutch I’ve paired with the outfit is actually a crossbody bag with a detachable shoulder strap.
