Earlier this year I made the decision to turn it up a notch with my running and began logging kilometres several times a week. When this journey commenced, I got accustomed to pounding the pavement solo until I joined the Black Toe Running/Nike Queen West Run Club here in Toronto. This phenomenal group that I run with on Wednesday evenings gives me the motivation on those days when I may not feel up to hitting the streets and that little extra push in improving my speed – not to mention the amazing new friendships I’ve formed with the other runners.
Due to the success of the existing run program at Black Toe, my friends at Nike Canada has re-launched and expanded the Nike+ Toronto Run Club to be more friendly to those who are just entering the world of running, challenging enough for seasoned runners and completely open and free to the public. The expansion will offer those part of the newly launched Gridlock Runners group more days of running, diverse training options, plus access to coaches and experts that can help you eat for endurance and increase speed.
