Unless you are living under a rock, in an induced coma in the hospital or were on a transatlantic flight last night, I am pretty sure your eyes were glued to a TV or computer to watch Queen Bey’s epic halftime show performance during the Super Bowl. I like to say that I have a love/hate relationship Mrs. Carter…I have never really been a huge fan but I have to give credit when credit is due and this bish is a true performer. We all waited with baited breath as the last few seconds wound down in the 2nd quarter of the game (that nobody was really watching anyways) to find out whether it would really be a solo Bey performance or if we were going to be blessed with a Destiny’s Child reunion…and I will be honest, I shrieked a bit with delight that it was latter because I love me some Kelly Rowland…so much so, I may have her outfit duplicated and go as her for Halloween this year! Michelle on the other hand…I am not too sure what to say about her without sounding like Perez Hilton during his days as an angry, overweight blogger (who has now shed 60 lbs and refrains from bashing celebs on his site), but it was a bit of an embarrassment if you ask me. Poor Michelle looked like she was starving and maybe that is the reason she had difficulty keeping up with the choreography. Either that, or Kelly and Bey held private rehearsal sessions in their hotel room and left Michelle out of the loop.
At any rate, both the performance and production on a whole was phenomenal – those that talked garbage about Beyonce after the Inauguration have now been permanently silenced… and I almost dropped dead when I laid eyes on that Rubin Singer leather bodysuit with lace detailing. Let me NOT forget to mention the shoe game. I’m totally coveting the Proenza Schouler booties the DC3 ladies wore on stage. So yes, Bey has earned her title and the throne – I think she may have turned even me into a Bey-liever. This chick is clearly on fire since her GQ mag cover and performance for the Obama’s a couple weeks ago and has no plans on slowing things down anytime soon as she has just released her dates for her upcoming world tour.
