Hot Actresses Cool Campaigns

Couldn’t help but notice some majorly cool fashion campaigns featuring some super hot actresses this week. It’s actually terrifying how little  traditional models are being used for mag covers, print/commercial ads, fashion films and as brand ambassadors. Can’t say that I disagree with this tactic as these women are just as beautiful as models, pack some serious star power, are more of a household name than Cara Delevigne and Joan Smalls, and with acting chops like theirs, they can easily express a brand’s message through print or motion ad like nobody’s business.

There are really too many images from this campaign to feature in this post but let me just be clear, every single one of them is BEYOND MAJOR and it has given me a quick reminder that although she is in her forties, Nicole Kidman can still hang with the best of them. The Aussie actress has gone back to her original fiery red locks for Jimmy Choo’s Autumn/Winter’13 seductive print and fashion film campaign, inspired by film noir and the tension of a Hitchcock movie and shot by Mikael Jansson. “Nicole has perfectly captured the mood of our AW13 collection. Her character portrays the multifaceted qualities of a Jimmy Choo woman – strong, sexy, with a beguiling sense of mystery.” says Sandra Choi, the brand’s Creative Director. CALVIN KLEIN DOWNTOWN FRAGRANCE CAMPAIGN FEATURING ROONEY MARA

Calvin Klein launched their latest fragrance DOWNTOWN Calvin Klein earlier this week and I was pleasantly surprised that the worldwide campaign video featured one of my faves…edgy, cool girl Rooney Mara. You may remember Mara, the Academy Award nominated actress and unique beauty for her role as Lisbeth Salender in the 2011 Hollywood adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and in 2006’s The Social Network. The black and white video campaign, directed by David Fincher (who also directed Mara in the two aforementioned films, tells a story of a young woman living in her own world, breaking away from the expected. Set in NYC, the short film portrays the multifaceted life of a globally recognizable actress who always remains true to herself – making the actress the perfect fit in my opinion as she has always been known for her amazing talents and individuality.  Senior Vice President, American Fragrances for Coty, Catherine Walsh says, “DOWNTOWN is a fragrance for women that live by their own rules!”” Well AMEN to that…I can’t wait to add this scent of soft florals and feminine woods to my perfume collection. Check out the film below, which features the track “Runaway” from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
BURBERRY A/W2013 CAMPAIGN FEATURING SIENNA MILLER AND TOM STURRIDGE

I tweeted about this earlier this week because I just thought the campaign was so adorable but almost nauseatingly cute and I was also shocked to see Sienna Miller’s slim post baby body after just giving birth a few months ago. A long time muse of the brand, Miller got sexy with her fellow actor, fiance and baby-daddy Tom Sturridge on the set for Burberry’s latest film and print campaign, both shot by one of my fave photogs Mario Testino and the latter directed by Christopher Bailey. “This was a shoot fully of love and laughter. It was such a treat to work with Sienna and Tom, and to capture their magic together”, says the company’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey.

Watch the motion campaign titled, “Trench Kisses” below. It features a new rendition of “Hold Me” by Brit musician Tom Odell recorded live at the Women’s A/W 2013 Burberry Runway Show in London. And beware, the updated classic trench, moto leather jackets and on-screen cuteness may cause severe jealously!
