The first good collaboration news of 2013! Michelle Smith of cult classic brand Milly, has announced that she will be collaborating with Banana Republic (my go-to for great priced workplace attire) for the first time. The limited edition capsule collection, which is inspired by the Hamptons, will also be the first time the designer has taken a stab at menswear.
Due this spring (late May to be exact), the 60 piece collection will include men’s pieces such as v-neck tees in a variety of bright colours, printed shorts and button-down knit tops ($24.50-64.50) and women’s apparel ($45-175), jewelry ($39.50) and bags ($130). Us gals can expect a total of 46 styles – think jacquard dresses, colour blocked maxis and adorable pattern skirts. Fans can also expect to find six updated versions of classic Milly patterns in addition to one made specifically for Banana Republic, that is vintage inspired and filled with tons of mood lightening hues like lime and coral.
Banana Republic’s Creative Director and Executive Vice President of Design says, “We wanted to focus on the vibrant colours and optimistic patterns that highlight the inspiring, fun-loving summer season. Michelle’s keen sense of colour, print and patters are the perfect complement to Banana Republic and her Hamptons chic-style is a new take on aspirational summer dressing for our consumers.”
Be sure to check www.bananarepublic.com in early spring for exact launch dates to avoid missing out on this limited time only collection.
XO,
S
