Sneaker heads and fashion addicts can now breathe a sigh of relief…the first images of the much anticipated footwear collaboration between Maison Martin Margiela and iconic Massachusetts footwear brand Converse has finally been released and in my personal opinion, it doesn’t disappoint! Margiela, known for it’s avant-garde aesthetic, brings some Parisian goodness to the American brand’s two classic shoes – The Chuck Taylor All-Star and the Low-Cut Jack Purcell (images for the latter have yet to be released).
The iconic “Chucks” have been dipped in off-white paint with a cracked finish, in addition to a textured leather upper *swoon* and is rumored to be priced around $200. I really don’t care that that these are probably for the boys…I don’t abide by fashion rules anyways and they would be a great addition to my sneaker collection. Not like I needed anymore reason to be sad about missing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC, Margiela recently sent out a “Save the Date” for an event on September 11th from 7-10pm where the remaining details on the collaboration will be revealed. Stay tuned!
