I know I’m not the only one who had the idea to revamp my living space after being stuck at home over the last year and a half of the pandemic pon-de-replay. Despite what felt like endless shipping delays, I finished sourcing all the pieces for inside my condo just in time for of our shoot with Hello! Canada last Fall. The last area I was eager to upgrade was our patio. Even though restaurants and patios are back in full swing here in Toronto, I still felt the need to create a beautiful outdoor oasis at home where Maxwell and I can rest and reset in private. My biggest silver lining from the last year was really learning to love and appreciate my home and the quiet I find there.
As any of you who are familiar with condo life know, a good balcony can really add some bonus living space. Let me tell you, Indigo’s outdoor living department really came through this summer. I am lucky to have a 200 sqft wrap around balcony so I decided to break the space up into three distinct vignettes. In the outdoor living room, I already had a couch, side tables and large area rug for relaxing that I added some beautiful accent pillows to. The corner spot houses our dining table where we’ve been taking a lot more meals al fresco. Rattan serving trays, a new tablecloth, and a pitcher & glasses made from recycled plastics have me ready to host friends and family out there as life returns to normal-ish. Finally (and in my opinion, I saved the BEST for last), my outdoor meditation lounge came to life with floor pillows, a cute jute and a pretty epic beanbag chair. Some greenery, planters, lanterns and glass-free twinkle lights put the finishing touches on the good vibes and you will likely find Maxie and I cozied up out there until the first snow this year.
