Everyday I am learning how to live with greater balance in my life. This does involve some big changes in my life such as establishing boundaries on my working hours and visiting my team of dedicated practitioners on a regular basis for treatment to maintain my body and mind (juggling a career while living with two autoimmune diseases and recovering from trauma is no joke!!). But at some point, we all learn that the little things build up and become the big things in life so I’m working on becoming aware of how small things like the music I’m listening to impacts my mental health.
Enter my Unwind Playlist. I am infusing self-care into every corner of my life to ensure I don’t end up back here. With song names like Transform (Daniel Caesar ft. Charlotte Day Wilson) and lyrics like “I’m moving closer to my dreams” (Closer, Goapele), it’s sure to spark something in your soul. But honestly no judgement if you aren’t so focused on the lyrics and are just here for some soothing beats. If you know me, you know I love me some classic hip hop so there was no way this girl is making any playlists without at least a few hip hop big names weaved in ;). It’s honestly perfect to set a calming mood for anything from sipping my morning tea (or coffee if that’s your jam), reading, journaling, stretching/yoga and I’ve even started playing it on repeat during my workday. Do you bbs! Light some candles, run a bubble bath and press play!
